Sharing some tips to consider in planning a house.

September 8, 2006. The ground breaking for our small house was made on that day. Small because it’s floor area is only 25 square meters. Parts inside include living room, kitchen/dining area, toilet and bath, bedroom and an area for books, art and craft materials and etc. Actually, the total land area is 240 sq.m. It’s quite big but i chose to have the small one. Because I was alone at the moment I decided to have my own house.

It was unfinished when I moved in on June 2, 2007. I asked a Nun for a pack of incense that I will burn when I get in. It is believed by some that it’s fragrance blast away bad spirits from the inside. A friend said too that it brings luck coupled with a prayer of course. It is still fresh in my memory how I started that way. No furniture, no ceiling, rough wall surfaces, and no electricity. I decided to live alone with it even it’s incomplete. I only have the  T & B inside, a temporary kitchen and water line. That’s the most important of all. Life was really simple and easy at the start.

By and by I was able to improve it. The first addition was the bedroom walls. Both areas are in a corner. The room is situated adjacent to the toilet and bath. They occupy the two corners of the house. The living area is also in another corner opposite to the bedroom. And the temporary kitchen is in the last corner. Let me show you its floor plan. Actually, it’s not my dream plan. But it is the one being realized due to budget difficulty.

Here’s the plan. Even how small a house is, traffic pattern must be considered.

The square area was first   built. Each side measures 5 meters. The small area in the kitchen was the last added. It measures 2.35 sq.m. that makes a total floor area of 28.5 sq. m.
