Are You a Controlled Drinking Driver?

How many more fatal accidents must there be before the people who drink and drive on a regular basis realize that sooner or later they themselves are gonna be in one of those accidents? Either they will be injured badly or dead. The sad thing is that many other innocent people will be hurt or killed because of their behaviors. So many people have over the years gotten it in their minds that its OK to have a few cool ones after work or on the way home from work. They actually come to believe that they deserve it because they worked so hard that day or everyday. Not once thinking about the consequences of their drinking a mind altering substance. Some think its to relax them after a hard day at work. Anything that takes your mind off of your normal healthy thinking pattern is surly mind altering and slowly damaging your brain cells. Yes you are relaxing your brain chemically with the alcohol content of what ever it is that you are drinking.

Alcohol lowers your inhibitions to think clearly, it slowly damages your brain cells, it eats away at your liver. So with all of these facts in mind why would a person continue to drink. They say in AA that you have to finally hit a hard bottom in your alcoholism to realize that you have a drinking problem. And if it effects you financially, emotionally and psychically enough you will give up the insane drinking all together. Some people are more stubborn that others. Because of their so called friends, because of their job involvement with the bosses or business associates, because of their own irrational thinking they continue on with the drinking freely as they see fit. They come to believe that they can control it. How many people have been in accidents that are dead or alive now? How many are in jails, prisons or in the hospital as we read this? Who has suffered in your family because of a drunk driver? Are you or someone you know gonna be the next victim of a drunk drivers insane beliefs and behaviors? Are you yourself gonna drink and drive and put yourself in the same category as the controlled drinker? You’ve got it under control. At least you think you do until one day you are dead, in jail, prison or in a hospital. If your lucky there was no one else in the car with you. Your Mom, Dad, girlfriend, boyfriend, daughter or son. No matter who may die because of your drinking and driving. The guilt and shame will haunt you for the rest of your life. If its you or someone in your family or some one from another family that dies because of your drinking. The hurts to the families will be astronomical in their hearts at the loss of a loved one. Many tears will fall. Time will pass. You will always know that it was you that was the cause of it all. Please if you choose to drink don’t do it while your driving.
