What strategies to choose.

Take a business which does not just sell a singular product like coffee. It sells the experience of having the coffee and products that can be consumed with it, like confectionery products, coffee mugs and makers and espresso cups. Starbucks made its mark as did second cup where there was much more to enjoy than just the coffee. In the the two are still competing for corner space, offering the person to sit and read a book or do something else besides drinking their product. It is a far cry from the take out coffee I used to get, where you never knew how long the coffee was on a burner and the only thing to have with it was a toast or a danish. Actually I miss those days, now there may be more to choose from but it does not make the coffee superior.

The experience of enjoying your coffee is tried and won method of gaining popularity. One also has to know how to price their product. It should be less expensive than a competitor’s brand especially if is atop end brand like Dell and should be more expensive than a cheaper variety especially if one wants to push it as a higher end product. Dell followed this method and secured its niche away from the Gateway computer variety.
