Expedience in Goal Making
The question is to make a buck or to make business better. Some will say you can’t go wrong making a dollar. The proof is in the pudding looking at the auto makers.
What happened to those great family owned restaurants I went to years ago? Do you think the corporate food industry put them out of business? Now that is a funny name “the food industry.” If you think about it, it is real funny because we aren’t talking about farmers, and ranchers.
You can bet your bottom dollar the building blocks of a survivable society are the farmers, and the ranchers. They are feeling a pinch from corporate shenanigans too. There was a term called monopolization. If corporations become too big to be victims of their bad management then new laws are needed to allow individual enterprises back into the market place. The other part is the laws must be acted upon. Conspiracy theories are mostly nonsense, but if Americans can’t buy food from anything except corporate chains collusion is obvious, and it is on a grand scale that’s keeping your children from owning a business of any kind. The Illuminati structure must be controlled. What government agency or government organization is not of American design? The Constitution Of The United States with the term “Equality for All” is undermined in all respects in the current development of society’s structure.
The fresh vegetables at roadside stands are dwindling. When corporate employment controls the only work, the American people become slaves working for the American dream. That is the carrot before the cart so to speak! Unfulfilled promises of the American Dream don’t give you freedom when your home turns into a slave’s hobble. Oh yeah, the corporate squeeze just happened — they got your cash, and you are left owing on a hobble. You must work to hold on to your house or become street bound.
Can you remember the Appalachia coal company’s stores? People worked for pocket change while the prices at the store kept the people in debt. They had no choice but to work or die on the mountainside. The “Socialistic movement of American taxes” to prop up corporate structures is proof to the pudding. When corporations get your tax dollars by manipulation and you can’t get health care to live life comfortably makes the statement. The inappropriate power shift based on inequality for government survival.
Ok, so it is an industry. People can only eat or only buy food in corporate chains. The “Ma and Pa” restaurants with fantastic Italian, French, Polish, and/or Hungarian foods are near extinction. We have laws to protect the animals from extinction; why aren’t the laws of The United States of America being upheld to protect the greatest government outline in history. Democracy’s weakness has always been destruction from within as demonstrated by the Greeks.
The specialty foods can be found without the touches of Ma and Pa. You can find pirogues at the grocery store freezer. If you are not familiar, Pirogues are Polish style stuffed dumplings. It is doubtful authentic Polish people made them.
In the 1950s, and the 1960s, when you walked, you would find a private owned restaurant or a corner store with a butcher. True, they were different while some of them were very good, and some were not so good, but they existed with personally dedicated family entrepreneurs. The main point is during the 1950s-60s, the American Economy was at its strongest. David Bowie is singing “Changes,” and that was the 70s.
Yes, most of the better restaurants could endure a 5% haircut on profits, and they did for many years, as the fast food industry pushed on. The best way to put it “Societal Expectations” changed with business innovation. Today, “Corporations” need to fall under the RICO Act or should we say to hell with inalienable human rights of the United States’ Constitution. In 1962, my father drove 22 miles to get McDonald’s hamburgers in the next town. The 17-cent hamburgers were the craze when gasoline was about the same price per gallon. Now, that gasoline prices are equal to the price of a Big Mac is there a difference? What has affected the better eateries?
During the Dark Ages, the group of Satanists called the Illuminati controlled all businesses in Europe. They were comprised of noble family distant relatives wanting the power they couldn’t have. In the 1430s through the 1440s the European people rebelled against the Illuminati controlling all business. What is oblivious they did not destroy the idea.
In today’s world, business people have been bowing to false gods with their money is power notions for years. This isn’t a supernatural power, but a society’s handling of power based on human sentiments of obligation, which happens to be very similar to the Mafioso movement of the 20th Century. The 20th Century was only 9 years ago. How can any group create the greatest economic failure in history? When speaking of a worldwide recession/depression it is the biggest financial fiasco of all time.
Back in the US of A, the FDA hasn’t stopped deaths caused by food contamination. They have changed though. Instead of closing a local restaurant because of three foods born illnesses — they now close meat processors after 50 million pounds hamburger has been distributed throughout 20 states. Eating bacteria contaminated hamburgers causes 12 deaths so after enough information was gathered and correlated action was taken.
You may have seen on TV were one to 150 million pounds of ground beef where thrown away when finding a dangerous strain of bacteria in the meat processing machinery. The catchall is they can’t get it all back once it is shipped and redistributed through communal chains. You may have heard about the cow that couldn’t stand on its feet, at a California Slaughter House. The stumbling animal was sent through the conduit, because it was another 200 bucks in corporate earnings. Yes, they closed it after a personal camera cam recorded the incident. We can’t list all of the bacterial, viral, or chemical contamination/s. We can only talk about common known problems. Hey, they are enough! I know your saying what in the “h” does mass production have to do with the restaurant business, by now?
A LOT actually! The days of butcher shops have nearly pasted. Privatized, single family or individually owned restaurants have gone under, because they can’t use their life’s expertise in preparing food because mass production doesn’t give selection choices. The butcher would go into his walk-in freezer. He would select his hanging beef by species knowing which type yields better Rib Steaks, or better brisket, perhaps this one is best for Chuck Steaks or tender roasts. He would select the beef according to the needs of his business, the butcher shop. In turn, he supplied the local restaurants near him.
Oh yeah, in the United States the coffee shops are nearly gone too. There are very few butchers around to purchase, and cut selections for the better restaurants. Yes, years ago the Chefs were the butchers too, but today, the restaurant managers telephone their meat orders into packing plants or food suppliers. The chefs are on the express lane production in various culinary institutions, and they simply wait for delivery. They are supply clerks now. In this case, if the beef delivered to the slaughterhouse for mass cutting and packing would be better for stews rather than tender steaks — oh well. Americans can eat the refuge beef. This has become the attitude. The speed of efficiency defeats quality when putting money in one’s pocket and prostrating to the almighty dollar. The dollar isn’t almighty anymore; it happens to the ruminants of an era past. The dollar rises and falls on the American stock market, and the overseas markets as well. That is proof enough it is a false god creating false powers.
Meats are the bulk of a good restaurant business. The meat packing industry, like all industries are based on the less money spent is more money to the owner/investors. It just happens to negate quality, and taste for the consumers. The end product drops in value as expertise is lost on assembly line butchery. Henry Ford didn’t make steaks understand? Anything that moos goes through the line. It drops through a trapdoor, where the animal is dressed. Moments later it is placed on a conveyor belt to be bulk cut. It doesn’t matter if this bovine makes great hamburger or dog food because the building meets FDA Regulations with the proper codes for human consumption. Most humans in America don’t have enough money to make a difference so they get what they get.
Most of you are saying it sounds like an efficient system for the lower middle class. That is the mass target. Efficiency isn’t the solution to a better steak, a better roast or even a better meatloaf. With this type of system, the General Manager says Monday’s 20,000 tons goes to Purina. Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s production goes to Safe Way, and Kroger. Friday and Saturday’s production goes to the Zoos. In time management efficiency, the experience based mental processes are gone in the wind. Why are McDonald’s and Burger King is called hamburger joints? Beef cattle are like us in some ways because not all cattle are beef cattle like not all humans are athletes.
Homo Sapient like bovine don’t have race differences. Any male and female will create a fertile offspring. Easy to understand “not all beef have humps on their backs and work well at rodeos.” Black Angus or Belgium Blues are beef breeds for their meat. These two breeds are man’s breeding attempts to get near the perfect cow. The perfect beef has about 15% fat marbling in its flesh. This quantity of fat has been found to yield the more tender better tasting beef with very little waste.
The problem is that ranchers across the USA don’t raise the same cattle. Livestock is environmentally sensitive. In the south, it is hot. Cattle that carry their own water in humps survive easier. Brahma cows do well in the southern USA. Ranchers have personal preferences. Do to their location, some need to produce milk as well as table meat. Heifers are a doable verity for this type production. Angus cattle do well in moderate climates, and colder climates. There are more good eating beeves that do well in the cooler climates. These breeds can be raised in the south, but they require temperature-controlled barns, and lots of shade in the fields.
The varieties of cattle are great, and America has most varieties. Think about dissecting frogs in biology. One frog has big legs while another frog has toes that stick to trees. There is a big difference in the same animal’s structure. If you eliminate knowledge, and replace it with expediency you have ruins in time. Hopefully you understand humans cannot focus on the wrong aspect in business. Making money isn’t enough nor should it be the only objective. If it has value, then making things work infinitely is the better goal.
Private owned restaurants and eateries should be placed on the US economic calendar. Too many positive features existed. A solid economy during their time frame is one. There were professional waiters, and waitresses. Yes, at one time, these professions could support a family. In the United States, the term efficiency needs to be reevaluated. A balance in quality, and appropriateness needs to be applied to any business. Fields of endeavor should have applicants with the skills necessary to perform within their specialty. If our economic make up were appropriately oriented, anybody could find a descent steak or job without driving to find a steak house franchise to eat or work. Under the old system each community would have jobs to support their families. What has happened to “The Auto Industry” could very well happen to the food industry. What turns a buck isn’t the only cog in society’s machinery.
