Identity theft is a scary and troublesome headache. If you ever have to go through this, you know how terrifying it would be. Your whole life is in jeopardy, and your security is in question! Hackers and thieves steal your information from emails, to discard letters that contained your name, your address, your social security numbers, and your credit cards.
Below are five things you should consider taking extra steps to seal guard your identity
At the Gas Station

After using your credit card or your debit card, it is strongly recommended that your must take an extra minute after collecting your receipt to hit the “CLEAR” button at the pump. Your information is stored there for the next available customer in line.

Have Two Different Passwords

Change your passwords every year, and have two different passwords for online transactions: one for the shopping site, and one for your bank account. Make your password unique, and include numbers. If your password is easy to guess such as your favorite color, your favorite food, you’re in jeopardy!
Use Your Credit Card

If you have credit card, use it for all your transactions whenever you can. By federal law, you are not liable for purchases that someone makes. It provides protection that debit card is not offered.
Sign Up for Credit Monitoring Service

For roughly about $10.00 a month, you can enlist the security of a Credit Monitoring Service Company. Before signing up though, make sure this company provides the service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it will notify you in real time, not 90 days later in the report.
