The best places to eat if you want to save your money.

With our economy as bad as it is, it is important to save money as often as you can. But you have to eat and that is why you should go out to only the cheapest places to save some cash but also fill your stomach up with food. Most of these places I will give you a calorie per dollar ratio so you can understand what you are getting for your money. Keep in mind that this food is a guide to all the cheapest food. It is not always the most healthy food, so I advise that you do not eat this everyday.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s is the number one best place to eat where you can become full on a variety of things for less than $5. McDonald’s has been the king of fast food for as long as I can remember. The Double Cheeseburger (now the McDouble) has been a great choice because it gives you so much food for just $1. The McDouble has 390 calories and so the calorie to dollar ratio is obviously 390 calories per dollar. A Yankee Stadium Hotdog costs $6 and is 510 calories. That is only 85 calories per dollar, more than 300 calories more per dollar if you just eat at McDonald’s.

Subway

Subway is another great place to eat even though it doe not seem like it is with all of its large sub sandwiches. If you just get a Meatball Sub on Wheat Bread with nothing on it, it is 1226 calories. Since it is only $5 it turns out to be 245 calories per dollar but remember that is without cheese or anything else you can put on it for free, so it is actually a pretty sweet deal and it fills you up if you eat one by yourself.  

Little Caesars 

You can also save money at Little Caesars Pizza, especially if you buy the always delicious Hot-N-Ready Pizza, which is only $5. It tastes good and is ready when you are. It is best to share with a couple friends so that you can split up the cost. One pizza has 1680 calories. That is 336 calories per dollar and you can easily eat it with a couple people so you do not have to pay the full $5.
