In this tough economy many people are shopping less or shopping on the Internet. This makes it more difficult for regular stores to compete. If you are a business owner there are still creative ways to drive customers to your establishment. These ideas are easy and very inexpensive and you can start right away.

One way is to ask your best customers to supply you with the names and addresses of friends, associates and relatives who they think would be great customers or people who they think maybe interest in your products or service. This will allow you to send these potential customers one of your promotional offers. This referral program will allow you to give the original customer a discount on their next purchase. That discount would be determined by how much money the new customer spends while in your store. .

Another great way you can drive traffic into your business is by holding a free drawing. Decide how often you will have the drawing and also what the prize will be.  You can give away a free product just have the customer to place their contact information into a bowl and decide how often you will have your drawing.  Not only will this bring people into your store but you will be able to increase your mailing list for future promotions as well.

Another way to drive traffic into your store is to have your customers fill out a short survey.  Ask the customer to rate your service, your product (s) and also what could you do to better your services. You may be surprise by how many people will actually take the time to give you constructive feedback.

You can also request their email address be written on the survey this will allow you to send out eblasts to your customers and potential customers. You will be able to feature new products and even tell about upcoming sales.

Always offer top-notch service to your customers. Greet them as they enter into your establishment and upon leaving make a friendly or kind statement to them letting them know you value their business. Do not be hesitant in going the extra mile for your customers. Remember they are the reason why you are still in business.
