How to Get a Job Easily and Successfully
There are no formulas or secrets that assure success in a job interview, but there are some basic tips that we should know when applying for a job. Let’s take a look at them.
Make an attractive CV. It is usual to confuse attraction with quantity but we have to have in mind that the person preselecting the curriculums is sick of them and it is not useful at all producing a 3-pages-long CV to tell what we have been doing. One or two sheets maximum is the appropriate number to give concise and short details. Remember short and sweet is better.
Make a covering letter. Covering letters are useful to forward the CV content. That is why a good presentation, through a well-structured mail will give a good impression to the person preselecting you. Take that in mind because it is not often considered as it should.
Be yourself. It is not only an obvious question. Actually it is an entire truth that is not always taken into account by candidates. Sometimes you may feel attracted by the possibility of lying or inventing something out that is not completely real to give a good impression or to highlight some points that were weak. The sooner the better to realize that the person making the interview is an experienced one and is used to people lying so he/she will definitely find it out. Do not hesitate about that. Besides, when simulating your muscles tense and you are not relaxed and concentrated as you should be so the situation becomes extremely stressful, and remember that if the interviewer finds out what you are hiding, you will be completely out of the game.
Dress up with discretion. Outfit contributes to give a good impression. Missing to choose the right clothes may cause you a big problem. To call people’s attention is not the best option when assisting to an interview. Moderate colors always tend to be the best way to show you are a discrete and serious person, especially when applying administrative jobs or when we do not know what the company’s culture is about. It often happens that the candidate does not know which company is doing the request until the person arrives there so prudence may be your ally.
Do not be too late or too soon. Respect the time of the interview under any circumstance. In case of having problems to arrive call the consultant or the company to inform about that in order to re-schedule it. Doing this you will be able to maintain the relationship with the interviewer and not being considered as irresponsible. It is not helpful at all to arrive before the hour scheduled because the interviewer may be busy at that time and will be hurried by you. As a consequence he/she will be bad predisposed. Arriving late is of course an error too, because it shows lack of interest and responsibility.
