New Job or New Business

Several people are now getting the great message “they don’t need to come to work on Monday…” Reason should be the financial crisis, or at least it’s an excuse. When I told my girlfriend that the company will release some jobs, she thought like “aah, don’t worry, a guy like you always finds a job” – she wasn’t aware of the situation, obviously … Latter she realized what’s going on, and I was quite happy that she understood the situation and I stayed at my job… for now.

But what would happen if you lose your job? It’s like a check of your red alert readiness… And to get a job, nightmare. There are a lot of unemployed people, and no jobs… besides, every company is trying to keep the top guys and let go just the low performers… so they now that you are most probably not a top guy… In some countries the government might get qualified people… but the people probably won’t like the wage… at least something good

What about starting a new, own business? Hard to say if it’s a great idea in current situation either, the advantages are great. Like: go to work at a time you like, setup your holiday, choose your people, (right now there might be a lot of qualified people…). Disadvantages: invest some money and take the risk; you have to have some money ; manage people; probably hard first year…

Anyway, the current situation on market would use an ultra great idea, – something that would solve current issues and makes people to buy the goods or service…. The other possibility I see is to sell something that is still needed, but to break the competitors, you either sell something much better for the same price or just for a very low price – hard as well.

Wondering when it ends and what will be the result…. At least I expect to remove some one-man-shows that pretend to be a huge company but can’t do anything and it’s a pain to work with them.
