Having a hard time finding a job like so many millions of Americans?

Some of you have degrees, and some of you do not. The competition is so tight, employers are looking for a specific skill. Can you program cobalt, C++, Tig weld and so on. When you make your resume build on a specific skill you have and branch from there. Speaking a Foreign language always provides ample opportunities for employment. Sschools, prisons, and government jobs are always looking bilingual people. Some of these jobs for bilingual people do not pay as well, but it is money in your pocket. To the people who have masters degrees, you are being turned down because of your degree. Yes, I know it sounds silly, but many employers find you are over qualified. I know it is disappointing to spend all that time, and money, in college and not find a job. Try starting at the bottom.

What I am saying is if you can not find a job with your degree look for something that may not pay as well. When a employer tells you that you are over qualified, tell them that you are willing to start at the bottom and work your way up. You will have to swallow your pride while saying this, but remember it is a job. If you have been laid off do not mention that in your cover letter. Your cover letter is strictly to market yourself. Tell them what you offer and what you are looking for. Never try to bridge the gap between two jobs by using the wrong beginning or ending dates. Instead, focus on what you accomplished while you were out of work. Another helpful tip to land a job is never go into an interview and say, “I’m looking for something to do until I find a real job”. Often, employers will leap to hire an employee who expresses a desire for long-term commitment. Hopefully these tips help and good luck job hunting.
