What Questions Will be Asked in The Interview?
Would you appear in an exam more confidently, if you are given the exact list of questions which will be asked in the question paper beforehand? If you will shimmer with confidence in such a scenario, why not in an interview where you already know the questions? Interviewers have only a limited set of questions and you know these questions very well.
The different types of questions that can be asked in an interview are listed as follows:
- Questions About You: For example, “tell me about yourself” is become such a famous and most used question.
- Your Attitudes Towards Work: What will be an ideal job for you? Are you an individual contributor or team player?
- Your Attitudes Towards Problems: What kinds of decision are tough to make? How would you react for challenging situations? How quickly will you learn from your mistakes and take corrective measures? How will you handle crises or conflicts?
- Your Approach Towards the Boss and Management: Who was your best boss and why? What qualities would you expect in your boss? What kind of leadership do you like to work in?
- Your Career: What are your future career plans? How have you taken your career so far? Are you heading in the right direction and firstly do you have a clear direction in mind?
- Your Education: Do you consider your education valuable and why? Why did you not choose to become a doctor rather than an engineer?
- Former Employment: What will your earlier boss or colleagues tell about you? What are the positives and negatives of your earlier employment? Did you train your replacement and how?
- Interviewing Company: Why do you want to work for the company? What do you know about our organization? How do you think your career path matches with our company’s requirements?
- Salary Expectations: How much did you get in your last job? How much is your expectations? What is the rationale of such a raise? The last one will be asked even if you asked for the same salary!
- Your Personal Life: What types of books do you like to read? What hobbies do you have? Will these hobbies affect your work-life?
- Self-Evaluation: Which time of the day are you at your best? What turns you on or off at work?
- Your Leadership: What style of leadership would you follow and why? State some examples where you have displayed your leadership? How will the organization benefit by your leadership style?
If you look closer, you know answers to most of them, and the best part, the interviewer does not know. He would not know your leadership style and is keen to learn about the same. So, for most of the time, you have an upper hand in a job interview. Realize this to reap more success.
