Henry Ford: A Display of the Power of Thinking
“I would rather hire bright and intelligent people who went to school, to provide answers to my questions so that I could engage my mind in more important things, like thinking”.
One popular story goes that, a group of knowledgeable personalities were condemning
Henry Ford for been “ignorant.” They claimed he really did not know much. Therefore, Ford took up the challenge and invited them to his office. He asked them to ask him any question and that he will answer.
So this guild of American investors gathered round America’s great industrialist and started asking him questions.
He listened to them and when they were through,he simply reached out to a few phones
on his desk and called in some of his bright assistants. Ofcourse, his assistants
answered the panel according to what they sought.
He (Henry Ford) said to the panel, “I would rather hire bright and intelligent people who went to school, to provide answers to my questions so that I could engage my mind in more important things, like thinking.”
Ofcourse, Henry Ford is one of America’s industrialists who are famous for
not completing college education.
