Bollore want’s to extract and industrialize the lithium in the salt flat.

The French group, Bolloré-Eramet proposed to the Bolivian government, work options on the industrialization of the lithium in the biggest salt flat of the world, Salar de Uyuni. They proposed on Tuesday in the meeting that they maintained with the minister of mining, Alberto Echazú, and other authorities.  

In the appointment, they did not treat on totals of investment, but “we have spoken more about how can we join our experiences to arrive at an industrialization of the lithium”, reported the ambassador of France in Bolivia, Antoine Grassin, upon concluding the encounter that lasted two hours.  

The Executive ratified that “there is not association” in the production of the carbonate of lithium neither in the reserves of the “gray gold” of the to salt of Uyuni.  On the other hand agreed the integral participation of Bolloré-Eramet in the Scientific Committee, they emphasized governmental sources.  The diplomat assured that they are in a process of discussion and approach, affirming that in general what him “interests to France is to be associate of Bolivia in its development”.  On this base is sought to summarize the projects.  

In that sense, if they see that “the lithium is a strategic resource” and “is important for the future of Bolivia”, then “is interesting to find a formula, an agreement to participate in this development”.  ANF
