Disney Takeover of Marvel?

This is huge.  This is big.  This is extraordinary.  The possibility of Disney taking over and buying Marvel Entertainment for 4 billion dollars is very big news for the comic industry.  All day I have heard good things and bad things about this possibility and the only thing I can see is the good!

More Movies

If Disney were to do this then there would be an even greater possibility of comic book movies in the future.  We are not just talking about live action films but also animation and even animated 3D films.  This could start a whole new genre of movies for us fans.  And with having Disney in the background you have all the resources you will ever need.

More Finances

This also means that Marvel Entertainment could have a bigger budget for their comics and their comic book properties.  You may be able to see the Marvel characters spreading around in other mediums and areas than just comic books and movies because of the financial support Disney can offer.  They know have more financial resources to expand their business opportunities.

More Widely Accepted

This may be the biggest benefit for this takeover if it does happen.  Comic books and comic book properties often are criticized as being old, immature, and not widely accepted by the public.  But by having a big name like Disney step in and be apart of the industry could help the reputation as this being a real and thriving medium.

I look forward to the coming days to see if this goes through and I also look forward to the great things that will come out of this in the distant future.
