Google has announced that they will fire two hundred employees working at the sales and marketing section.

Google says they have been investing too much in certain parts of the company. They also want to save on costs in these hard economic times. Google fired one hundred recruiters in Januari. In February, they fired another forty employees, at the time Google stopped the radio advertisements.

“If a company grows very fast, it’s almost impossible to do everything correctly, and we didn’t do so.” says senior vice president from global sales and business development Omid Kordestani in an announcement that was published Thursday.

“Besides, we have been investing too much in some parts of the company in preparation for the growing trends we were going through, at that time.” he added.

Google currently has around 21.000 employees. The company does not want to say how many of those employees are working at the sales and marketing section.
