Assessment Tests for Clarification
Assessments test are used to categorize people. In order to make a decision their is a need to get an understanding about the knowledge and abilities of the individual.
Management skills assessments test are used to measure whether or not one’s skills in the management fields are questionable. Oftentimes, those in the management industry wonder why as a manager they are struggling. These assessment tools assess interpersonal skills, personality and attitudes. Strategic skills are tested to determine whether one have the drive or creativity to become an innovative player in the management field. Tactical skills determine whether or not one has the skills to manage on a full time basis. After returning back to read the instructors’ guidance, I immediately learned that the communication test was easily located after searching through a plethora of tests. The results of which are detailed in the contents of the assignment.
While taking the assessments test which included 166 questions and yielded a raw score of sixty one. I found myself rambling alone for answers. This question ranged from one end of the spectrum to another. Basically, I am not in managing arena and many of the question required decisive answers to pertinent questions. Many of which required the expertise of someone active in the management arena.
To further include a discussion of the assessment tests, one of the first questions that was relative to my current situation was whether or not a tasks to another person could be handled in a professional manner or would I loose control of the final product. Well, Currently I would not like any more than to begin a business in e-commerce. Currently I am doing shift work, and yet this seems to be my ultimate goal in life. Personally, I feel as if it could be my destiny. This was the first question that heightened my attention to the assessment. These types of business take a lot of time and it takes a lot out of the individual. My intuition is something that can be trusted whole heartedly. Because these matters take some time, I rarely feel myself getting stressed with others unless my stress can be based on an emotional level.
Currently doing shift work, I tend to put aside the tasks that can be postponed and deal with the important tasks at hand. Work and school can be overwhelming alone with a family life. The assessment did not discuss the relevance of a personal life, but theses are defining factors of your success in management or any endeavors. I’m genuinely alright with new projects and will take an extra effort to do whatever it takes to complete a task. Going as far as learning new subjects where knowledge can be applied to the work has only positive effects on me.
My supervisor has taken a big chance by asking me to take on difficult and important work. Honestly, I’m really elated about her decisions and actions on a daily basis. Matter of fact, a recent comment that I made to her suggested that I appreciated her vote of confidence in my work ethics. Because of my pretentious nature, I’m rarely worried that matters were not taken care of in a professional fashion. The skills assessment included whether or not I was meticulous, good at brainstorming, whether or not I get annoyed at when I do not complete tasks, whether or not I am competent at completing a task, am I innovative with respects to technology and business all of which was definitely a yes!
The result of the communication test was insightfulness and yielding a raw score of fifty eight. Meanwhile desperately searching for ways to make this assignment flow, I decided to get to the main point. The results of the communication test indicated difficulty interpreting other’s people’s words and actions and seeing from their perspective. Lack of insightfulness lead to frequent misunderstandings in most situations. Insight is an essential part of good interpersonal skills being able to place you in other people shoes and sense what they feel allows a better understanding of them. With insight, you will be able to understand what others are saying or if they are uncomfortable about a certain topic and therefore adjust your behavior accordingly. I can generally sense other feelings; however there is always room for improvement. The outcome of which confirms more attention is being paid to the message your sending rather than how it being received. In time insight will get better!
As I mentioned earlier, my intentions are to begin a business in e-commerce (design). The assessment question was whether or not people view me as being product or people oriented. Actually, people should always come first and then things remembering to always maintain a safe environment. Sometimes I do have a tendency to loose important data. However, I am able to come up with innovative and creative approaches to work. Is that good in my field? I’m not sure about that one at this point in time.
For the most part, it is the employee’s obligation to stick around when the company is going through lean or challenging times. The employer will typically inform the employees when times are getting challenging. The economy is really in a bad state for most businesses. It would not be a good thing to just bail at the first chance of challenging times. Managers should always set the examples for their employees. These are the individuals that set the bar for new and on coming employees. Implementation business practices should have a positive social and environmental impact on everyone’s thinking.
In conclusion, the assessment peeped into the comfort levels of employee and employer and ones personal communication skills. Many would truly enjoy mentoring, coaching, responding to urgent situations, switching tasks and giving order. According to the snapshot report, my potential for management was over-all adequate and yet my communication test yield lack of insightfulness. The assessments touched on topics of a wide range varying from integrity, motivation, openness, and comfort levels with employee, to comfort level with delegation. Each of these ingredients comprises essential opinions for a clear and decisive assessment discussion. I was not surprised to encounter these results even though my destiny is to become an entrepreneur! I should perhaps consider working on insightfulness which is promised to delivered in time.
