End the bad habit of procrastination and achieve more effective time managements.

Procrastination is the avoidance of unpleasant tasks. It can become a habit if you let it. Unfortunately, once you begin this downhill slide, procrastination can begin to erode your effectiveness in all aspects of your life. But, you can break the habit once and for all.

Begin by taking a larger task and breaking it down into smaller components. Write down the task and the steps required to bring it to completion. Set a date by which to accomplish it.

As an affirmation, tell others that you are trying to more effectively manage your time and break the procrastination habit. Enlist their help by allowing others to help you. You will see your progress through their eyes and they may help you to set and keep to your deadlines.

Sit down with pen and paper and actually create a plan to get things done.

Outline each project that you need to complete and assign an appropriate amount of time in which to accomplish it.

If you begin to feel overwhelmed, ask for help. Learn to delegate tasks to others and to say “no” to too many burdensome commitments.

Reward yourself when you accomplish a goal, even a small one. This system of attainment and reward will provide an incentive that will eventually become ingrained in your subconscious if it is repeated frequently enough.

Aim for smaller successes in the course of achieving larger ones.

By making this commitment to end the habit of procrastination you will soon be on your way to more effective time management. You will have greater success and less stress.
