1. Well Marketed: As an IMer you will be able to see which products are well marketed and which aren’t. As a general rule anything being sold at an online shop (that looks more like a catalogue) will convert much lesser than something that is marketed directly, with a sales letter etc. Products that fit all the above criteria that have an independent affiliate program and are sold with direct response marketing are an absolute gold mine. There are less of them but when you find them, they’re worth their weight in gold.

2. A Good Commission: Obviously the higher the commission the better. I don’t have a set of guidelines, but a commission of at least $15-20 per sale is preferable. I don’t usually care about the percentage, as long as I can make about that much per sale I’m happy.
