Billboard Sex Trade
How many times have we been driving to and from work and noticed the giant billboards advertising the numerous goods and services on the busy through ways? Or looked at the countless skyscrapers, only to see sexual images bigger than life scrolled across the walls and on the roofs?
This writer decided that he would again research and see what he could find in the form of images and incorporate them into this article, which is number two of this series concerning the wide spread use of sex in advertising to sell merchandise to the hungry consumer.

The billboard in the image above called Sexpo clearly points to the use of sexual content and shows you the readers how effective this form of advertising really is.
Billboards like the one in this picture can easily be seen as we travel back and forth to work. This one asks the question, “Want Longer Lasting Sex?” I ask myself, how many hungry consumers saw this ad and later called the business number at the bottom of it.

Now I’m sure that we were to be driving by the office building and saw this in the picture above we would remember it for a long time to come. If there was advertising mixed in with it, how many of us would at least be curious enough to check out the products and buy them. There are numerous types and kinds of advertising that businesses such as travel agencies, health and beauty products, life styles, fashion and real estate could insert into the image on this high-rise.

Billboards like this one, advertising books and popular TV series can be seen in just about every city in the United States.

This night time picture shows the effects of combining advertising and sex to sell products and services using lighted billboards. The lights accent the brilliant colors making the advertisement pop and really standout and can be seen at great distances. These types of billboards are very wide spread in parts of the world today. In some places they nearly blot out the horizon, a great example of this would be down town Las Vegas.
Billboards of many shapes and sizes can be seen along the gambling strips that line the highways and if you drive through this area at night, they produce a light show that is beautiful and many that are stopping or even just passing through take pictures of them.
The beer lovers will really like this image and it’s a classic example of the use of billboards in use today’s business world.
This is yet another example showing the widespread use combining sex and advertising to sell goods and services to the consumer. This picture was taken in urban Japan.

This Billboard caught this writer’s attention and made him chuckle to himself as before it was banned it was used by a toilet manufacturer to advertise their toilets to the mass public.
This billboard is another classic example of how sex is incorporated with advertising to sell products.
I enjoyed writing this article and sharing with you the reader the images I was able to find while researching the information that I have incorporated into article two of the series, “Sex and Advertising. I look forwards to writing article three of this ongoing in depth look on the effects of combining sexual content with advertising in today’s business community.

Interesting. Not sure the beer billboard goes with the others. Where I live, this kind of thing cannot be posted, but we do have the ones that skim the limit.

Though morally disgusting, sex billboards are great business advertisements. great article.
im not sure if all the billboards you pointed out were using sex as the core of their marketing message. a picture of a beautiful women marketing a product directed towards women may be simply selling the idea of beauty not sex. um… the toilet seat one i’m not sure how this is applicable to the idea of using sex to sell a product. as i don’t think this product really demands any sexual orientation, though i know we live in a big world full of different people who do find sexual stimulation in the form of skat, though i’m not sure of the potential market size of this target market and i dont believe this company was intending to use sex as their main driver of their marketing campain perhaps it was simply the diversity of us all no matter what shape or size and that they have products to keep every bottom happy.
