Let’s face it, if you are anything like me – a wannabe entrepreneur – you are always on the look-out for an innovative and cost effective marketing strategy that will continue to bring fresh leads and customers to your products or service. In this article I will outline things that you will have to consider if you want to stand out in the marketplace.

  • First, is there a need for your product or service? In other words, will people want to part with their cash in order to purchase what you have. We have to make sure that there is a need for your product, otherwise there is no point selling it.
  • Secondly we have to work out who wants to buy your product. What age group are you aiming your product at?
  • Thirdly, how much will they be willing to part with in order to have what you are offering? Because if we can’t determine if people are willing to pay for your product we might as well go back to the drawing board.
  • Fourth, if your business is not selling a product, but a service, what concept do you want to get across to your customer. Is it a concept of relaxation, a time management strategy, or extra creativity? It’s important when trying to convey your concept to your customer, that it be concise, punchy, and something that no other business delivers. In other words you have to ask yourself, “What is my point of difference?” “What makes me stand out from all the other businesses of this kind?”

Up until now, I have given you traditional marketing strategy. This is where conventional stops and radical begins. When a business comes to me and asks me to help with marketing, I sit down with them and ask them the following questions:

  • How many customers do you have within a week?
  • What are your demographics?
  • Who is your typical customer at the moment?
  • Who would you like your customer to be in the future?
  • Do your customers like the service you provide?
  • How is your product packaged?
  • Is your product relevant to today’s market?
  • How many customers do you have to get through the door in order for your business to be viable? (Specific figures.)

Then I tell the person I am marketing for, my point of difference.
I pray.
I specifically pray for more customers and fresh leads according to the specs you have outlined to me.
Here is an example of a typical prayer. You might want to start praying. It really does work:

I declare on this day,
I shall no longer have empty pockets.
Father in Heaven,
Is going to grant me
An open Heaven above my life.
Abundance will be mine.
Not just money,
But in all things that I lack.
Amen.

I hope you found this article to be useful and even if you don’t have faith, I challenge you to give prayer a go in your marketing strategy. Prayer along with all these other techniques really does work wonders. Have good marketing success.
