We live in a world full of many different types of signs.  We find signs everywhere we are and everywhere we go.

Signs are found in theaters, shopping malls, in grocery stores, at airports, work buildings, museums, and many other places.  Signs can be found on roadways, expressways, or on street corners.  There are signs posted on poles, boards, windows, parking lots, building fronts, on buses, trains, cars and trucks.  Signs help us in many different ways.  Some signs guide us by providing driving information and directions.  They help us get from place to place.  Some signs provide information on rules and regulations.  Many more signs are used for advertising and for marketing foods, supplies and general goods.  Signs may be found in newspapers, magazines, phone books, advertisement fliers, discount coupons, and local penny-savers.  Grocery stores use signs throughout their stores.  They have signs on counters, refrigerators, freezers, storage shelves and counters.  They post signs on walls, isles in the front middle and back of their stores.  The signs are used for guiding customers and for organizing food and supplies.  Signs are found on cereal boxes, containers, plastic, bottles and packaged items.  Signs provide educational information on price, weights and nutritive value. 

Signs are used to identify food groups, supplies and brands.  They help in advertising discounts and sales of products helping the consumer to make economical decisions in there purchases.  Signs help in developing and identifying brands for marketing campaigns.  Signs in advertising and marketing are used in television programs, radio programs and now in the Internet.  The use of signs is wide spread throughout the world wide web.  Signs are used in everything on the Internet.  They are  used in the structure of web pages,  and in private and public business sites.  They help us navigate throughout the Internet and help us find our way.  One sign alone can convey a message of thousands of words.  Signs are with us and help make life a little easier in many ways.  Signs are used in architectural plans, mechanical drawings, repair diagrams, and floor plans.  Signs are in greeting cards, gift wrap, labels, software boxes, cook books and phone books.  Signs can be found in schools and in classrooms as audio and visual aids.  Signs are continuing to grow in form and in content and are moving forward along with the Internet.
