Not all sites you may research are up to the level of honesty we hope to find when searching for grants. So let’s take the hard work of sorting through the pages of the countless sites to see which of them are legit totally away.

This writer as promised has decided to do a follow up article concerning the numerous government grants that are readily available to help those seeking assistance with starting a new business, writing and education. As was mentioned in article one of this series, not all sites you may research are up to the level of honesty we hope to find when searching for grants. So let’s take the hard work of sorting through the pages of the countless sites to see which of them are legit totally away.

I received some really great advice from a friend of mine while researching ways in which to accomplish this for you the readers. My friend is a school teacher that has had to rely on the grant system for several years. She said, “If you want to make sure your dealing directly with the government on issues of this sort then make sure the site you go to has (. gov) at the end of it.”  “This will let you know that you dealing directly with the government agencies and not with someone trying to sell you something.” That was some really awesome advice. By doing this you cut out the middleman and save yourself some wasted time as well as out of pocket money.

In this writer’s opinion, the best site to use would be the www.grants.gov site as you are indeed dealing directly with the government agencies involved with issuing the numerous grants that are out there waiting for you to apply for. If you decide to go this route you will find some really interesting links there to click onto. These links including the updated forms you may need when asking for the grants you’re wishing to apply for and are very user friendly.

A good example of this would be to look at the sidebar on the site above and take a look at it. You will be quite amazed at what you will discover when you click on the links there. You also need not worry about the age old question, “Are they up to date?” While researching this article, this is exactly what I did. This writer noticed that if he looked, that there were several quick links on this page. There is also a new addition called a Grant Blog. I would also encourage you to take a moment and sign up for their quarterly news letter which is also really useful too.
