How Your Kid Can Start a Business
Here’s how your child can make money. It’s good to teach them from a young age, but only if you feel that they are ready or want to do their job. There are a variety of things to do, but here are some that are ideal.
What Not to Do
Don’t allow your child to sell stuff at school, or to people you don’t know. If you live in a small neighborhood and you don’t know everyone don’t sell coffee or lemonade as it can pose safety risks. Don’t go door to door. A lot of people will get annoyed if someone goes to their door and tries to sell them something that’s not of appeal. A lot of times younger children do not think about this risk and will be very dissapointed when no one buys their ‘Scribble Scrabble Mud Pies.’ Along with that you could get hurt by going to places where you don’t know the residents.
Their Own Business
Starting up their own small business, such as selling home-made trading cards to the neighborhood kids is fun for young children. They and their friends can sell to the neighboorhood kids things like crafts and share all the money that they make together for getting stuff. Don’t help them with the business. If they are older selling chocolate bars is good too because young kids aren’t allowed always to buy lots of candy and older kids often have the money to buy inventory, and also understand the concept of spending money to make money. They can sell water bottles too.
Sell Hand Made Jewerly, Arts and Crafts, Chocolate Bars, Candy, Gummies, Bottled Water, Cans of Pop, and anything else that they have the ability to sell with friends or colleagues.
Working
Build Websites- Build websites for friends with www.wetpaint.com or something that you Googled. Ask them about what kind of websites that they want, for example, a social networking site for their club with www.ning.com. Maybe they want to write about dogs, or their own pets, or their favorite books, their drawings and more.
Make Candy- Boil 2 parts sugar and 1 part water until it turns into a syrup. Pour it onto a pan, cool it and then roll it into sweet pieces. Sell them by the bag. You can put them on toothpicks and wrap them in a ribbon also. They are sweet and simple treats.
Clean Houses- Have some friends all clean up houses for friends and family or neighborhood folk. They can split the profits and you will be the CEO of your own cleaning company. Cleaning a house weekly for 6 weeks can come up to 300 dollars, and you can easily make tons with your businness.
Start a convienience store in your room- Buy some of your own sweets and then put them on sale in your room. When it comes to selling bubble gum and chocolate bars 20 dollars go a long way. If a little brother/sister whines to your mom or dad then remember that you bought the stuff, no them, mom, your brother, sister, or dad.
Business Ideas
Make sure that you are getting about 5 dollars of every 30 dollars your employees are making. If you aren’t then fire them without guilt. But be fair too.
