If you’re out of work and you are marketable, than you need to really search out opportunities online and through an agency.
There is always a job out there.
All you need is skills. If your skills are marketable you would easily get a job. All you have to do is search for a desired vacancy and apply. I am a firm believer that despite all that knowledge and skills all you need is bit of LUCK. Suppose you are interviewed by a person who is in very bad mood, that’s where you luck comes to play.
If you really need a job and work hard to find one he will be all set.Maybe start his own business by starting a website online. With front page soft ware you can build it yourself and get a domain name and there you go.I wish him luck!
Take what you do/did (your skill level) and expand on that.
If you were a Banker, say, you could offer services to help private people or small companies to balance their books, accounting, etc.
If you know computers well, what is simple to you, many out there have no idea, offer to teach or repair.
Open your mind to all possibilities with the skills that you have. You may not make as much as you did at your previous employment, but it may turn into the best thing that ever happened.
At least wise it will help get you through while continuing to search for permanent employment .
Good Luck, and Believe in yourself and what you do!
This is a kind of out there suggestion. But that’s my point…
Years and years ago when my x husband was laid off and unable to find a job, we went to a flea market. There we met a couple who were also layed off. They had decided to bring their ponies to the flea market and offer pony rides to the kids. This got us to thinking. Since we both loved photography we talked to this couple and gave them a commission if we could try to take and sell pictures to the parents. ( This was before digital camera’s)
You would not believe the response we got. We Never made less then $200 a week. More then it is now. And enough to pay all of our bills…
I know this would not work now.. but my point is.. you can not go with the flow now a days. You have to be different… think different and not be afraid to take a chance.
My advice.. think about your skills.. then think about a way that you can use them that is unusual. At least that way you don’t get lost in the crowd!!
All the best!!
Well, for the time being, I suggest some part time job- whatever it is, until or unless it pays affordable. Better ask him to work out a website of his own. Even Darren Rowse (problogger.net) was once without a well paying job. That was the time when he went to the blog business. Today he is a biggie in the WWW world. All the best!
