Us engineer job opportunities in the future.

In the recent development of the economy, Asian and Easten European engineers gain lots of opportunities in the engineering jobs. Lots of large companies setup offices in these areas. The new technologies within 20 years, such as dot com and/or the semiconductor industries, are all moved to Asian – India, Taiwan and Korea. That leaves lots of job cuts in USA. I guess these jobs will never come back in the future. Those would not be imagined for people twenty years, and US engineers were really enjoying their life.
I tried to find the next hot spot which can create tons of jobs for US engineers. I did a search in the mercurynews.com, which is the website of a newspaper in the Silicon Valley. It was said the VC funding was declining in the 3rd quarter overall, but the life-science and bio-medical engineering 10% increase comparing to last quarter, and the funding for life-science and bio-medical is 1/3 about the total. I did some researches on the life science technologies, such as genomics. Silicon Valley should be the capital of gene sequencing technology, which needs expertise in high performance computing, information searching, bio-medical engineering and imaging technology etc.  I hope with these new technologies, US will create more and more opportunities for engineers in the next ten years.
