Are You Ready to Start a Home Business?

Working from home can be so tempting. There are no traffic jams to contend with, we can own our time, and so forth. Sure, it seems so easy. But is it? Here is a simple quiz you can try for your business personality, with 15 statements. Find out how you go. It was passed on to me by a friend some time ago, and leaves me without a specific point system to offer. However, I’ve come up with a high-level rating to drive home a point.  

I’ve scaled it from 1-5. Rate yourself on each statement, which means five (’5′) will apply to your best and one (’1′) will be your lowest. Assume that all statements apply, and therefore you shouldn’t give any “Not Applicable” answers.  Above all, be honest with yourself, enjoy, and take the quiz in good spirit. You don’t even have to discuss the result with anyone. It hopes to gauge where you are at, and you can work on improving where you need to.

3. I am a doer, at the same time a planner.
4. I am patient realizing I need to plan for a solid foundation.
5. I am persistent when the going is tough.

10. I have a sense of humor.
11. I have chosen a business I love.
12. I have thoroughly researched my project.
13. I have a financial security to back me up.
14. I have a support to rely on.
15. I take risks, when necessary.

If you rated 60-75, wow, you got it! Start drafting your business plan. If you scored 45-55, you’re okay, average, with room for improvement. But for 30 or below, you most likely need to talk to a small-business career counsellor.
