Which Things Should You Have in Your Work or Office?
Distractions, money spent, time wasted and less energy for real work. What are the only necessary things to have in your office?
Bruce Lee said that it’s more important what we take out of our day than what we put in our day. With this he teaches us to focus only on what’s really important and to forget about what it’s not so important.
When we walk for our office, when we browse some stores with decoration products or when we leave our imagination flow, the results is always a bunch of non important items laying around the computer and the office too.
What do you really need to work?
- A desk, a simple one with no complicated designs. The best color is grey or made of glass, however it’s more expensive.
- A computer on the desk. The computer is more important than all the papers you will place on the desk. The computer replaces any other type of information plus it’s much faster. If you still live (we spend more time at work than at home, some people only do not sleep there… sometimes) in an office with no computer, you really need to read more business techniques and business information management magazines or websites.
- One single file cabinet for all the bureaucratic papers, but a small one. Contracts, paper bills, and other old fashioned things will go and stay there.
- One coffer to store some important items such as your master password, your keys, mobile phones and so on.
- In your computer have nothing but only the browser, any other external software you really must use such as photoshop and only shortcuts to websites you made to speed your access to the most used pages. Tune up software, wallpapers, music, files inside it are a must remove now. Use online storage.
- And finally you need to have a secretary with you or two maybe three. How many times you need to do something very simple yet it take so long such as making a phone call or getting this or that done? With them in the same place as you are, you have to be a model so you behave and work better, plus vocal and direct communication is much better than email or IM communication and even better than voice call software such as Skype.
