Taxes
This may seem like a really strong opinion, but I have my own reasons for it.
Ok, well, where to start? I’ve been a Democrat for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never really thought about the differences between parties other that: “Man, Bush really sucks”.
I was a huge supporter of Al Gore (I’m a conversationalist too) in 2000, but I never really got into the politics behind anything until just recently. I’ve been doing a lot (and I mean a lot) of research on these claims of Obama’s scandals and problems (Most of them turned out to be directly from #43).
It was then that I came across the most idiotic and simple loop that has ever been created.
Every Republican in modern presidency (After World War 2) has had huge tax cuts on big businesses and a decrease of regulations in many large companies and departments (Mainly the FDA for Bush).
Then when a Democrat wins office, they complain about the huge deficit that was really there before, but it just wasn’t attracted to their attention.
If you cut the taxes that would repay the deficit, then there would be no problem, but we don’t tax on enough things to repay the deficit.
Think about it.
If there is a farmer who gets $100,000 a year farming with fertilizer (which is bad for pretty much everything) and we make him stop using fertilizer. His crop is cut in half, so he only makes $50,000. But then you increase the price of food (You wouldn’t believe it, but we have really cheap food in America) and put a tax on certain foods (Mainly meat) with stricter regulations. That same farmer will be making a lower quantity of a higher value, higher quality crop, and making the same amount of money without ever hurting the environment or the economy.
This is the kind of thing we need to be doing!
Putting a larger tax on say, Alcohol and cigarettes would help repay the deficit and slowly but surely help to solve out problems with Alcoholism and nicotine addiction.
Making meat and fatty foods more expensive would decrease our problem with Obesity (We do have one, if you haven’t noticed)
Making cars more expensive and fuel efficient would help decrease our obesity rate, decrease our dependency on foreign oil, and help make back money.
There are hundreds of different situations where taxing certain things would help solve more than just the deficit.
We don’t tax any of those things as much as we should, so we are in a huge deficit, have problems with other countries, and have problems with ourselves.
But, I do have Hope for the future. A new face in the White house could bring upon some major changes, but whether those changes are good or bad is yet to be determined.
Any comments pertaining to why I am an idiot for being concerned with the environment or why obama sucks will be promptly deleted, as they are not relevant to the topic.

Well written article.. Keep it up!
